VentureGauge is a mobile application that helps entrepreneurs, small businesses, and independent operators track progress toward break-even and profitability. Users can enter information such as revenue, expenses, costs, and sales activity, and VentureGauge uses that information to calculate and display financial progress.
VentureGauge is designed to operate locally on your device. It does not require a VentureGauge account and does not use a VentureGauge cloud service to store your venture information.
1. Information stored by the VentureGauge mobile application
Venture information
VentureGauge allows you to enter and store information about your ventures, including:
- venture names and descriptions;
- revenue, expenses, costs, and sales activity;
- notes and other venture details; and
- visual identity information, including a built-in icon or a custom image you choose.
This information is stored locally on your device. Staxflare does not operate a server or cloud service that receives or stores this venture information as part of the normal operation of the app.
VentureGauge does not require you to create a VentureGauge account.
Custom venture images
You may choose an image from your device to use as a venture icon or image. VentureGauge may request access to your photo library or use your operating system’s photo-selection interface so you can select the image.
The image you select for the venture is stored locally for use by the application. Staxflare does not operate a service that receives or stores these custom venture images as part of the normal operation of VentureGauge.
Granting photo access does not mean Staxflare receives or stores your entire photo library. Access is used to support the image-selection feature you choose to use and is subject to the permissions and controls provided by your operating system.
2. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
VentureGauge does not include third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics services in the mobile application.
Staxflare does not use VentureGauge to collect your venture financial information for advertising or analytics.
The VentureGauge website does not use Google Analytics and is not intended to use advertising trackers, behavioral advertising, or cross-site advertising profiles.
If these practices change in the future, this Privacy Notice will be updated as appropriate.
3. Crash reports and platform diagnostics
Staxflare does not currently operate or integrate a separate crash-reporting or telemetry service that collects diagnostic information directly from the VentureGauge mobile application.
Apple, Google, device manufacturers, operating-system providers, and app-distribution platforms may independently collect crash reports, diagnostics, usage information, or other technical information through their operating systems, app stores, developer services, or platform features. Their collection and processing are governed by their own privacy policies, platform settings, and user choices.
Depending on the platform and the user’s settings, Apple or Google may make certain aggregated or diagnostic information available to app developers through their developer services. This platform-provided information is separate from the venture financial information stored locally by VentureGauge.
4. Expo and application build services
Staxflare uses Expo and Expo Application Services (EAS) as development, build, and application-distribution infrastructure for VentureGauge.
These services may process information related to Staxflare’s developer account, application source code, build artifacts, signing or distribution information, and technical build logs as necessary to provide those services.
VentureGauge does not use EAS Update, Expo push-notification services, or Expo analytics or observability services to collect or transmit users’ locally stored venture information.
Venture financial information, notes, venture details, and custom venture images stored locally by VentureGauge are not intentionally transmitted to Expo through the normal operation of the application.
Expo processes information through its services according to its own privacy and security practices.
5. The VentureGauge website
The VentureGauge website is hosted using Vercel.
When you visit the website, Vercel and the technical infrastructure used to deliver the site may process information necessary to receive and respond to web requests. This may include information such as your IP address, browser or device characteristics, requested pages, timestamps, and technical logs.
Staxflare does not use Google Analytics on the VentureGauge website.
The website may use information available from the browser, such as device or platform characteristics, to present or emphasize the appropriate Apple App Store or Google Play Store link. VentureGauge does not use this functionality to create a persistent advertising profile of website visitors.
Information processed independently by Vercel is also subject to Vercel’s applicable privacy terms and policies.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
VentureGauge does not intentionally use non-essential advertising or analytics cookies on the VentureGauge website. See the Cookie Policy for a short statement of current cookie practices.
The website’s hosting infrastructure or essential site functionality may use technical storage or similar mechanisms where necessary to provide, secure, or operate the site. If VentureGauge later introduces non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising technologies, or other tracking technologies, this Privacy Notice and any required consent mechanisms will be updated as appropriate.
7. Information you provide directly to us
We may receive personal information when you voluntarily contact Staxflare for support, ask a question, submit a privacy request, report a problem, or otherwise communicate with us.
The information we receive depends on what you choose to provide and may include your name, email address, the contents of your message, and information necessary to respond to your request.
Please do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, financial-account credentials, or other unnecessary sensitive information when contacting us.
8. How we use information we receive
When Staxflare receives information directly from you, or receives limited information through services used to operate VentureGauge or its website, we may use it to:
- provide and maintain the Services;
- respond to questions and support requests;
- investigate technical problems;
- protect the security and integrity of the Services;
- comply with applicable legal obligations;
- enforce our terms and protect legal rights; and
- carry out another purpose with your consent where required.
We do not use locally stored venture financial information for advertising or behavioral profiling.
9. When information may be shared
We may disclose information that we actually possess to service providers when necessary to operate the Services, such as website hosting providers.
We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security; or in connection with a sale, transfer, reorganization, financing, or similar business transaction where permitted by law.
We do not sell users’ locally stored VentureGauge financial information.
10. Data retention and deletion
Venture information stored by the VentureGauge mobile application remains locally on the device according to the application’s functionality and the user’s actions.
Because Staxflare does not maintain a VentureGauge cloud copy of this information, Staxflare generally cannot access, recover, or remotely delete locally stored venture information for you.
Information you provide directly to Staxflare, such as a support communication, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, protect the Services, or comply with applicable law.
Information processed independently by platform or infrastructure providers may be retained according to their own policies and applicable settings.
11. Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the Services and the information under our control. However, no electronic system, device, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The local-first design of VentureGauge means Staxflare does not operate a cloud service that receives users’ venture financial information during normal app operation. Users remain responsible for maintaining appropriate security for their devices, device accounts, backups, and access credentials.
12. Device backups and third-party platform services
Although VentureGauge stores venture information locally, your device’s operating system or services you independently enable may back up or otherwise process application data.
For example, Apple, Google, or another device or platform provider may provide device backup, synchronization, diagnostics, or recovery features. Those services are controlled by their respective providers and are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, settings, and user choices.
Accordingly, “stored locally” does not mean that information can never be processed by a device backup or platform service that you independently use.
13. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and Staxflare does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.
Where applicable law establishes a different minimum age or additional requirements for particular processing activities, we will comply with those requirements.
If we learn that we possess personal information collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to address or delete that information.
14. International users and privacy rights
Privacy and data-protection rights vary by jurisdiction.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights concerning personal information Staxflare possesses about you. These may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing, and rights concerning consent.
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, Staxflare will process personal information under an applicable legal basis, which may include consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests, depending on the circumstances.
Because VentureGauge stores venture information locally rather than in a VentureGauge account or cloud service, Staxflare may not possess the locally stored information necessary to fulfill a server-side access, correction, or deletion request concerning that data. Users can manage locally stored venture information through the application’s available controls and their device.
We will consider valid privacy requests concerning personal information that Staxflare actually controls in accordance with applicable law.
15. United States privacy rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Depending on the jurisdiction and whether its requirements apply, these rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and rights relating to certain forms of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.
Staxflare does not use VentureGauge users’ locally stored venture financial information for targeted advertising or sell that information.
We will not discriminate against an individual for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law.
16. Third-party services and links
The Services may contain links to or interact with third-party services, including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The VentureGauge website is hosted using Vercel.
Apple, Google, Vercel, and other independent third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. This Privacy Notice does not control how those third parties process information through their own services.
17. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes to VentureGauge, the VentureGauge website, our business practices, technology, service providers, or applicable law.
This Privacy Notice will be identified by the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Notice.
Future versions of VentureGauge may introduce features such as user accounts, cloud synchronization, or third-party integrations. If those features materially change how Staxflare collects, stores, uses, or shares personal information, this Privacy Notice will be updated to describe those practices as appropriate.
